1000 Subscriber Giveaway!

Today I reached (and surpassed) 1000 subscribers on my YouTube Channel! Woohoo!

I’m completely amazed, and want to celebrate by doing a giveaway! I recently created a custom hand-carved stamp set for Shannon Green, and received some very nice feedback about it. So, I figured I would give away a custom hand-carved stamp set to one lucky winner! Here’s the video where I show the stamp carving process.

Of course, there are 999 other subscribers that I want to offer a little something to as well! So, I’ve decided to offer a FREE download of three of my favorite Gelli Prints! YVAGELLIS001 They are in PDF format, so most of you should be able to view and print them to use in your artwork. The only thing I ask is that you don’t proceed to try and sell these prints as your own.

In order to enter the Giveaway, just head over to my YouTube Channel, subscribe if you haven’t already, and leave a comment in the video below with three items that you’d love included in your custom stamp set. I suggest a word, an image, and perhaps your initials. The Giveaway runs from now until midnight CST on Feb. 3, 2016. I’ll draw a winner from on Feb. 4th and contact the winner on that day! Good luck everyone!

Thanks so much for your support!

Playing with Posca Paint Pens and a Giveaway!

This week I reached a milestone on my YouTube channel, Yva Lovée Arts. I reached 100 subscribers! Yay! I realize this is quite small compared to so many other channels, but since I just started this a little over a month ago, I’m pretty happy with the growth of my little channel. I decided I should show my gratitude to my subscribers with a Giveaway.

I figured I would go ahead and combine my Giveaway video with a video I was going to do for the #PawgustArt event with the Creative Arts Collaboration. I just ordered some Posca Paint Pens and received them in the mail, so I knew I wanted to play with them in my art journal.  My art journal is a great place to play with new media, so I grabbed my new paint pens and went to town showing off the different colors that came in the sets I had ordered. In order to incorporate the Animal Theme, I decided to draw paw prints of different animals in each of the colors. It was a fun little exercise and allowed me to break in my new pens at the same time.

If you’d like a chance to enter the Giveaway, just head on over to the video here and make sure you subscribe and leave a comment with your favorite color by the deadline, Aug. 31, 2015 at 11:59pm CDT.  I’ll be picking a winner on and announcing the winner on my YouTube channel on Sept. 1, 2015. #PawgustArt #ArtJournal Paw Prints

Creative Arts Collaboration on YouTube – #PawgustArt Event

YouTube Art Festival #PawgustArt

YouTube Art Festival #PawgustArt August 20-22, 2015.

I’m thrilled to be taking part in the second monthly themed event, #PawgustArt for Creative Arts Collaboration on YouTube! The event runs August 20 through August 22, 2015, although the videos created will remain available for as long as the creators keep them up on their channel.  ‬

My channel is Yva Lovée Arts and can be found here!

Creative Arts Collaboration is a worldwide group of artists and crafters that put out creative content on their YouTube channels. Each month we collaborate and publish videos surrounding a theme.  This month’s theme is Animals.  As a viewer, all you need to do to join in the fun is do a YouTube search for #PawgustArt! If you would like to narrow your search even further, just add a modifier hashtag to your search along with #PawgustArt. For example, if you would like to view paintings, you would search, “#PawgustArt #Paintings”.

Here is a list of modifiers you can use:

If you are a creator and would like to take part in these hashtag events, just visit our Facebook page to find out more details! Here is the link!

For my project, I did a speed painting of a Zebra! Here is the link to my video!

First, I found an image I wanted to use as a reference online, and drew it out in pencil on my gessoed gesso board. Then, I painted in the black lines with Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint – Carbon Black and an angle brush. After I masked the edges, and protected the white background with paper, I proceeded to splatter a rainbow of paint onto the canvas, making sure to heat dry the paint between color changes. Finally, I went back over the black stripes of the zebra again to add back the contrast that had been lost by the splattered paint. I cleaned up the edges with gesso, and Voila! I was done!  This was a fun project, and I hope you will check out the video, as well as search through the hundreds of submissions for this month’s event!
